Eligible clients with a valid mental health care plan from their GP will receive a Medicare rebate of $101.55 per session (limit of 10 sessions per calendar year).

At KA Psychology, we believe mental health support should be accessible and affordable. That's why we're proud to offer therapy fees well below the recommended rates set by Australia's leading psychology associations.
For the 2025–2026 financial year, the Australian Psychological Society (APS) recommends a fee of $318 for a standard consultation, while the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPi) recommends $330.
The goal is to keeping therapy as affordable as possible, so more people can access the support they need, when they need it.

If you'd like to claim your sessions through private health insurance, you'll need to pay the full consultation fee upfront. An invoice will then be provided for you to submit to your insurer and claim any eligible rebate.
Rebate amounts vary depending on your health fund and level of cover. It's a good idea to check with your insurer directly to confirm whether psychological services are covered and what rebate you may be entitled to receive.
Private health insurance can also be used if you have used all of the sessions available under your Mental Health Care Plan. Please note that only one rebate can be claimed per session, either a Medicare rebate OR a private health insurance rebate.

Self-managed and Plan-managed NDIS clients are welcome.
Please let us know at the time of initial enquiry/intake if you wish to utilise NDIS funding.
-
If you're accessing support through third-party insurers such as WorkSafe or TAC, please let us know when you get in touch.
Any required paperwork will need to be received and approved before your first appointment can be scheduled.

If a cancellation is made within 24 hours of your session, the full fee for the session will apply.
We really appreciate your understanding, as this helps keep appointment times available for others who may be waiting for support.

Finding the right psychologist is such an important part of the process. You’re welcome to book an initial consultation to see whether my approach feels like a good fit for you. If it doesn’t feel quite right, that’s completely okay — I’m always happy to help point you in the direction of other professionals who may better suit your needs.
What matters most is that you feel comfortable, safe, and supported in the therapeutic space you choose. That’s often where the most meaningful change begins.
